Jana Šrejma Kačírková was born in České Budějovice, southern Bohemia. She graduated from the Prague Conservatory in 2006. While still a student, she received second prize from the Antonín Dvořák International Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary, in 2005; National Theatre of Moravia-Silesia in Ostrava Award for her guest appearances there as Fiordiligi (Mozart, Così fan tutte); and Opera Mozart Award for her guest appearances as Zerlina (Mozart, Don Giovanni, in the opera’s summer season production at Prague’s Estates Theatre. From 2006, she was permanent guest of the National Theatre of Moravia-Silesia in Ostrava, where she created eleven roles: Fiordiligi (Mozart, Così fan tutte), Queen of the Night (Mozart, Die Zauberflöte), Donna Anna (Mozart, Don Giovanni), Susanna (Mozart, Le nozze di Figaro), Zerbinetta (Richard Strauss, Ariadne auf Naxos), Mara (Marco Tutino, La Lupa), Nedda (Leoncavallo, I pagliacci), Marguerite (Gounod, Faust), Lisette (Puccini, La Rondine), Jitka (Smetana, Dalibor), and the part of the singer Cavalieri (Peter Shaffer, Amadeus). In October 2010, she appeared at the Southern Bohemia Theatre in České Budějovice, as Donna Anna, and at the F.X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec, as Amina (Bellini, La Sonnambula).
Since December 2010, she has been soloist of the National Theatre of Moravia-Silesia in Ostrava. There, she is creating in the current season, 2011/2012, the roles of Juliette (Gounod, Roméo et Juliette), Anne (Stravinsky, The Rake’s Progress), and Violetta (Verdi, La traviata). She will likewise be guest-appearing as Violetta at the F.X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec. She made her debut at the National Theatre in Prague in December 2010, as Adina (Donizetti, L’elisir d’amore), and in May 2011 she studied for the same company the role of Constanze (Mozart, Die Entführung aus dem Serail); from the 2011/2012 season, she has also been appearing there as Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte), and Olympia (Offenbach, Les contes d’Hoffmann).
In July 2008, she performed at the summer festival in Ercolano, Italy, in the role of Elisetta (Cimarosa, Il matrimonio segreto). In February 2009, she guest appeared at the Teatro Politeama Greco in Lecce, as Lauretta (Puccini, Gianni Schicchi), and sang Olympia (Les contes d’Hoffmann) at the Pafos Aphrodite Festival in Cyprus. She has been a regular guest of the Prague Spring and Litomyšl Smetana Festivals. At the 20th International Music Festival in Český Krumlov, she sang Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), and Nedda (Leoncavallo, I pagliacci), opposite José Cura. In 2008, Jana Šrejma Kačírková was longlisted for the Thalia Prize nomination, for her creation of Zerbinetta (Richard Strauss, Ariadne auf Naxos).
