Petra Nôtová

The Slovak soprano Petra Nôtová graduated from the Conservatoire in Košice (1990 – 1995) and Academy of Music in Bratislava (1995 – 2000). She has received a number of awards at international singers’ competitions. In 2000 she was engaged as a soloist of the Slovak National Opera in Bratislava. Between 2006 and 2008 she was the soloist of the National Theatre Opera in Prague. Her repertoire includes the Mozart roles of Pamina and Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Alcina in Händel’s opera of the same name, Clorinda (Rossini: La Cenerentola), Maria (Donizetti: La fille du régiment), Musetta (Puccini: La bohème), Sophie (Massenet: Werther), Oscar (Verdi: Un ballo in maschera) and Frasquita (Bizet: Carmen). At the Prague’s National Theatre she has performed Felicia (Philip Glass: La Belle et la Bête), Mozart’s Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Servilia (La clemenza di Tito) and Zerlina, Norina (Donizetti: Don Pasquale), and Lenio (Martinů: The Greek Passion). Petra Nôtová’s concert repertoire comprises soprano parts in Bach’s The St. Mathew Passion, Händel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Agnus Dei. As regards songs, the most important are works by W. A. Mozart, F. Poulenc, A. Dvořák, J. Brahms.

The Prague State Opera – Theatre History in Pictures and Dates

The Prague State Opera in cooperation with the Slovart publishing house publishes a representative book tracking the history of this significant cultural institution since its opening in 1888 till the end of the 2002/2003 season. The publication called The Prague State Opera – Theatre History in Pictures and Dates is focusing solely on the opera featured at the scene, even though the theatre under various names also served to presentation of drama plays, operettas and ballet. The Prague State opera plans to publish the volumes concentrating on those genres in the next years.
